Teams play games against each other from 9-10am on Saturday mornings at home. The season for Cubs is typically the same as terms 2 and 3 of the school year.

MiniRoos (U8 - U12)

MiniRoos football caters for our youngest players and gives a well-rounded introduction to the game.  Ranging in age groups from Under 8 through to Under 12, the purpose is to give children the basic skills of playing football in a friendly, supportive and fun environment. Core values of teamwork, cooperation, fair play and respect for others are at the heart of all MiniRoos programs.

The U8 and U9 age groups introduce goalkeepers and play 7-a-side on approximately 1/4 size pitch with 20 minutes in each half. Teams usually train for 1 hour per week, depending on coach and parent agreement.

The U10, U11 and U12 age groups play 9-a-side on 1/2 size pitches with 25 minutes in each half.  Teams usually train once or twice a week (depending on coach and parent agreement).

MiniRoos games are typically played on Saturday mornings on a home and away ground format, dependent on Football Queensland scheduling. The season for MiniRoos is typically the same as terms 2 and 3 of the school year.

MiniRoos are loosely graded into Kangaroo, Wallaby and Quokka leagues. Selection for Kangaroo teams is done through trials which are held in November of the previous year with a letter of offer outlining expectations and fees provided to successful players. As MiniRoos is focussed on development and learning, scores are not kept and no league tables are published.

Players must wear football boots with plastic tags and shin guards for their protection. Team jerseys are provided for wear during matches. Wearing of SCFC training shirts, playing shorts and socks during training and games is preferred and are available for purchase at the clubhouse or via our online shop.
